Anyone remember the children's book Where the Wild things Are by Maurice Sendak? This 1963 novel was by far my most favorite book when I was a child. I remember being scared yet intrigued by the characters in the book. If you don't recall, the story is about a little boy named Max who gets into a bit of trouble so he is sent to his room without supper. Max seems Max dreams about being whisked away off to a magical world wearing his distinctive wolf suit costume. Along the way he meets a number of fantastical creatures living in a forest. Max becomes the leader of the group of ferocious looking monsters. The movie is being directed by acclaimed music video director Spike Jonze. It stars newcomer Max Records, Catherine Keener, Mark Ruffalo and Lauren Ambrose and is voiced by James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara, and Forest Whitaker.  Check out the updated trailer for the movie.

Supercon Florida was held this past weekend in Miami bringing the world of comic books, anime, animation and Cosplay to South Florida in a world-wind 3 day event. If you have never attended a Comic book convention and your a fan of comics and Sci Fi you certainly are missing out. The show is a family friendly event that draws a huge crowd of animated fans to this 3 day event. If you are are collector its a great place to pick up a  first edition comic book or find that rare Gi Joe figure that you swore you would find again after your Mom gave it away years earlier. Supercon Florida had over 50 different vendors exhibiting their wares.

The Star Wars Weekend Parade is made up of members of the 501st Legion (Vaders Fist) and other Star Wars Fans who dress up to "spread the magic of the Star Wars genre worldwide". They put on quite a show every year at Star Wars Weekends. This an event not to be missed.

I ain't afraid of no Ghost. Ghostbusters is coming back with a vengeance not seen since the Stay Puft Marshmallow man attacked New York City. The original movie is coming out on Blu Ray on June 16th and the new videogame based on the popular movie franchise is being released the same day as the Blu Ray release. The video game according Ivan Reitman producer and director of the two films is a reboot of the series.

Check out the included video from Disney's Star Wars Weekends featuring young Jedi learning the art of lightsaber training. These young Jedi learn the tactics and moves to wield their lightsabers swords from a Jedi master. The young Jedi are surprised by an appearance by a couple of stormtroopers, Darth Maul and Darth Vader. Darth Vader even spars with the young Jedi attempting to lure them to the dark side. The Jedi master points out that a young female Jedi in training can't be swayed to the Dark side since she donned a pink outfit.
